The secret of calming down the sense is to eliminate desire which is the root of our disturbances.
It is very important for us to have contentment.
The more people crave for their property, the more they have to suffer.
A great many rich people in the world today are suffering from numerous physical and mental problems.
Yet, the poorest people who have learnt to have contentment may enjoy their lives far more the richest people do.
REALISATION
We need to realize the nature of life (Characterized by unsatisfactorienes, changing, and agelessness)
Most people try to gain happiness through accumulation of wealth.
When they not successful in accumulating wealth, gaining position, power and honor, and driving pleasure from sense gratification, they pain and suffer, envying others who are successful in doing so.
However, even if they are successful in getting these things, they suffer as well because they then fear losing what they have gained, or their desires have increased for more wealth, higher position, more power and greater pleasure.
Their desire can never seem to be completely satiated.
That is why Religions encourage contentment and urges a person to look beyond the demands of his or her flash and ego.
In a religion likes Buddhism, people are remained that they are the heirs of their Kamma and the master of their destinies.
In order gain greater happiness, they must be prepared to forego shirt-term-pleasures.
When people understand the (aw of Kamma- nature) they will then make effort to refrain from performing bad actions and try to cultivate the good. By so acting, they gain benefit not only this life, but many other lives to come.
To experience worldly pleasure, there must be external objects or partner but to gain real happiness, it is not necessary top have an external object.
Based on these realizations and understanding, they will then try to be more aware of what and how they think, speak and act. They will consider if they thoughts, sepeech and actions.
These are beneficial, done out of compassion and have good effects for themselves as well as others.
Noble Eightfold Path
This path can help people to develop their moral strength (Sila)
The teaching of Buddha, Noble Eightfold Path is as a noble way of life. Another name is called Middle Path.
The Buddha advised His followers to follow this Path so as to avoid the extremes of sensual pleasure and self-mortification.
According to Buddha, anyone who lives in accordance with Dhamma, will be guided and protected by universal law.
One will he able to develop the mind by restating from evil and observing morality.
The Eightfold path can be compared to a road map.
We can make there aspect of the Eightfold path.
1 Morality- (Sila)
2 Mamadhi-(Mental- Culture)
3 Panna ( Wisdom)
Sila Abstaining from killing, slandering, stealing, becoming intoxicated or being lustful.
As one develop one's morality, the mind will become more easily controlled,
Finally, with development of concentration, wisdom will arise.
What right understands?
It understands of things as they really are and understanding of nature of good evil.
When a person had right understanding, he or she develops right thought as well.
Sometimes knows Right Resolution, Right Aspiration, and Right Ideas.
This factor serves a double purpose of eliminating evil thoughts and developing pure thoughts.
There are there aspects of Right Thought.
First a person should maintain an attitude of detachment from worldly pleasure rather then being selfishly attached to them.
One should be selfless and thank of the welfare of others.
Second, the person should maintain loving-kindness, good well and benevolence in the mind, which is opposed to hatred, ill-will or aversion.
Third, one should act with thoughts of harmlessness or compassion to all beings, which is opposed to cruelty and lack of consideration for others.
As a person progress only to spiritual path, one's thought will become increasingly harmless, selfless, and filled with love and compassion.
Right Speech - involves respect for Truth respect for the welfare for others.
It means- to avoid laying, to avoid back biting or slander, a harsh word can wound more deeply than weapons.
A gentle word can change the heart the mind of the most hardened criminal.
So develop a harmonious society, we should control cultivate and use our speech positively.
We speak word, which are truthful, bring harmony, kind and meaningful.
Please speech is sweet as honey.
Truthful speech is beautiful like a flower.
And Wrong speech is unwhosone like filth.
Right action respect for life, respect property, and respect for personal relationships.
Five Precepts-- Abstained from killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct.
Respect property means that we should not take what is not given, by stealing, cheating, or force.
Respect for personal relationship means that we should not commit adultery and should avoid sexual misconduct, which is important for maintaining self respect and the trust of those we love as well as a making our society a better place to live in.
right Live hood a factor moral conduct which refers to how we earn our living society we should earn a living without violating these principles of moral conduct.
Right Effort we cultivate a positive attitude and have enthusiasm in the things we do, whether in our career, or in our study, such a sustain enthusiasm and cheerful determination; we can succeed in the things we do.
The practice of Right mindfulness is important in Buddhism.
Mindfulness is the one way to achieve to end of suffering.
Mindfulness is essential even in our daily life during which we act in fill awareness of our actions, feelings, and thoughts, as well as our environment.
The mind should always be clear and alterative rather than districted and clouded.
Right concentration is the sustained application of that attention on the object without being distracted.
Concentration is the practice of developing one point-ness of the mind on one single object, either physical or mental.
The mind totally absorbed in the object without distractions, wavering, anxiety, downiness.
Right concentration brings to benefits
Firstly, it leads to mental and physical well- being.
comfort, joy, clam, tranquility.
Secondly, It turns the mind into an instrument capable of seeing things as they truly are, prepares in the mind, to attain wisdom.
